Bokken ("wooden sword") is the Japanese term in kenjutsu for a katana shaped out of wood. Used to train samurai in feudal Japan, it is now used as a training weapon in various Japanese sword arts. Some other martial arts (and all pedants) call it a bokuto ("wooden sword").
A suburito is a bokken designed for suburi. Suburi, literally "bare cutting", are solo cutting exercises. Suburito are thicker and heavier than normal bokken so that you have to develop either good technique, strong muscles or both to wield one. Their weight does however tend to make them poorly balanced, consequently they are not used for paired practise.
Miyamoto Musashi was famed for his use of the bokken in actual combat.

Now you can practice with some of Cold Steels most popular knife designs, in relative safety, with Cold Steels new rubber training knives.
The Rubber Trainer Laredo Bowie has been carefully fashioned to look as realistic as possible so they can be effectively used in solo practice, training drills, disarm drills, and demonstrations and any other activity where you want a reasonably close approximation of realism but not the extreme danger and risk associated with an actual knife.
The Santoprene rubber blades are soft enough to prevent the likelihood of most bodily injury. They do however, have a level of firmness that might cause injury to the face or the eyes, so it is recommended that appropriate eye protection or a fencing mask is utilized at all times when using a Cold Steel® rubber training knife.

The Burmese Hunter Machete is based on the historical Dha swords, which have a long tradition especially in Burma and Thailand. Characteristic are the slender design, an elongated tip and the absence of a parry element. In this interpretation by Joe Flowers, the machete features a black-coated 1075 carbon steel blade and a textured walnut handle. Brass rivets in the handle blend harmoniously into the overall look. Supplied with high quality leather sheath.
