This M48 Ranger Hawk is the ultimate tactical tool.

It is lightweight to be carried all day without added muscle fatigue and the blade of the M48 Ranger Hawk offers a wide, upswept axe blade for mammoth chopping, slashing and cutting potential. The axe head is constructed of precision cast 7Cr17 stainless steel. When combined with the backside of the head, the spike and axe head make for an efficient personal defense and breaching tool as well as a great camping tool with an extremely fast chopping edge.

The blade is securely attached to the sturdy nylon reinforced handle with 30% fiberglass, with three separate bolts and black nylon cord wrapping. It comes complete with a nylon snap button sheath that also houses the included directional compass.

Verdammt gute Axt!! Habe damit mein Bad "renoviert" ;) - Fließen abklopfen, Mauersteine raushauen - kein Problem!!! Danach war sie (wer hätte es gedacht) ziemlich abgestumpft. Mit ner schleifmaschiene ruckzuck wieder optimal!!! Beim Biwak dabei gehabt - jeder war begeistert von dem Teil! Ist wirklich tauglich das Teil! :) Aber!!! Wie schon die Vorgänger beschrieben haben, ist der Griff mit der Schnur rutschig, hab sie abgemacht. Man kann alternativ ein raues Lederband drum wickeln oder man kauft im Sportfachgeschäft so ein "Tennisschläger-Band" und wickelt das um den Griff. Aber auch ohne irgend eine Umwicklung ist der Griff gut! :-) Und der Kompass ist wirklich nur für eines gut: Sofort in die Tonne damit!!!!! Fazit: Sehr gute Axt oder ich würde es eher Beil nennen! Jeder dem die Kombination aus olivfarbenem Griff + schwarzem Axtkopf gefällt (was wirklich gut aussieht!) kann natürlich zu dieser Variante greifen. Dem Rest empfehle ich auf die günstigere Alternative mit schwarzem Griff zurückzugreifen. - Ich werde es auf jeden Fall tun, sobald ich mir ein zweites Exemplar kaufe....und das werde ich mit Sicherheit!!! ;-) Vier Sterne wegen dem höheren Preis (für eine rutschige Schnur und einem bescheidenen Kompass). Das Beil selber bekommt 5 Sterne!

sehr schöner Hawk solide verarbeitet,und leicht zu händeln. es gibt 2 mängel 1. der griff mit der nylonschnur ist gewöhnungsbedürftig.( rutscht schnell aus der hand) 2. der mitgelieferte kompass ist den mehrpreis nicht wert.

Die Axt sieht robust und gut verarbeitet aus! Zwei Kleinigkeiten habe ich allerdings zu bemängeln: - Die Schnur mit welcher der Griff umwickelt ist, ist leider etwas rutschig. Ohne Handschuhe fällt es zum Teil schwer die Axt richtig zu greifen. - Durch den schmalen und dadurch leichteren Axtkopf liegt der Schwerpunkt nicht optimal im vorderen Bereich der Axt. Man muss daher etwas mehr Kraft aufwenden. Sonst wie erwähnt robustes Teil, das unverwüstlich und massiv wirkt.
