Why is the katana all black you want to know? That’s easy, black is beautiful plus when we were checking the market we saw that there is no such sword on the market which was a good reason to create one. So we used black tsuka ito on black same wrapped using the style katate-maki or also called battle wrap. Then the fuchi, kashira and tsuba are black. When we thought about the menuki design we asked ourselves, if you want to cut with that katana do you need menuki? The answer was no, so there are simply no menuki on that sword.The saya is lacquered in black and it’s glossy, pretty usual, sure. The sageo is black and so are the shitodome on the kurigata.
