Timeless Al Mar Knives designs meet Kershaw’s precision manufacturing and meticulous fit and finish to bring you updated versions of some of the most iconic Al Mar Knives.

The AM-5 is the largest of the AM series knives. Kershaw updated it with SpeedSafe assisted opening for quick and simple one-handed opening. Just pull back on the flipper. The blade is quality 8Cr13MoV stainless steel with a black-oxide coating for an extra measure of blade protection. The front handle scale is G10 — crowned and polished for a smooth feel and classy look. The back is pure steel with a sturdy frame lock to keep the blade in position until you release it. The AM-5 also features a deep-carry pocket clip with Al Mar Knives red logo emblem.

In addition to a dedication to the original designs, Kershaw kept two things in mind when creating these exciting Al Mar Knives: quality and value. A designer and dedicated custom knife instructor with over 20 years' experience, he cares deeply about helping folks learn about knives as tools, and passing along the skills of custom knife making to others. These svelte dynamos pack a lot into their compact fixed blade knife designs. Available in plain edge Wharncliffe, tanto and Bowie style blades, they rip through a variety of cutting tasks better than most knives of comparable size. You owe it to yourself to see how something so compact can come up so big with such great control. Let your first two fingers take hold of the G10 handle. Wrap the last two around the cord fob for extra grip. Then see where you can go with it from there. You'll find it's tough to argue against the value of having a knife along with you, especially one as versatile and comfortable as the Minimalist. It's slim in design only, not features.
