In order to use the Mekuginuki for removing the Mekugi, the hammerhead part can be removed from the rest of the Mekuginuki. Oil equally the both sides of the sword body. If the care for the sword is finished, put a sword in the sword bag, and keep it. Keep a sword in the place where it dries in the shade. Taking inspiration from Thai swords in his personal collection and from his extensive training in the Thai Martial Arts, Lynn Thompson began exploring his own interpretation of a Thai sword in Cold Steels Machete format.
