Product information "Akito, handforged & folded, Set"

Real functional sword. Suitable not only for kata (forms of exercise) or Iaito (drawing exercises), but also for Temeshigiri (cut tests). In order to perform cut tests, it requires a very high quality, sharp and cut containing blade. The blade of the Akito is made of clay hardened 1045 carbon steel with real hamon (temper line).

The overall design is very robust, in order to avoid injury. Thus the blade is continuous almost to the end of the handle and is secured by two Mekugis. A beautifully lacquered wooden sheath with eye (Kurigata and Shito-Dome) is within the scope of supply.

This is the handforged and folded version of Sephiroth’s sword “Masamune” from the game series “Final Fantasy”. Final Fantasy VII is a console role playing game that was developed by Square Enix and released in the year 1997. It is the seventh installment of the Final Fantasy series which was produced for PlayStation and Microsoft Windows. Final Fantasy VII was the first game in the series to use 3D computer graphics as well as rendered characters against pre-rendered backgrounds. Set on the fantasy planet of Gaia, at first the player follows a group of resistance fighters, called Avalanche, in their struggle against the mega-corporation Shinra, which is draining the planet of its life force for the purpose of power generation. Noh Katana

The tsuba of this katana features actors of the traditional Japanese Noh-theatre, which originates from the 13th century and is still today very popular. The Noh Katana has a handforged blade made of carbon steel with a fine hamon and has been tempered traditionally. The sharp blade features a hi (fuller) to reduce the total weight. The handle (tsuka) is made of wood, has been coated with real fish skin and features two menukis. In addition it has been traditionally wrapped in red cotton. The tang is especially long and fixed with two bamboo pegs (mekugi). The scabbard (saya) is made of wood and has a red high gloss finish. The blade collar (habaki) is made of brass.
